A Unicorn theme is always fun, no matter how many times you do it - this baby shower was done at a client's private home in Johannesburg, and captured by Becca Boo Photographic Studio.
My favorite details? - Making the edible unicorn bark, with swirling color and lots of sparkles. - Spending hours sticking paper circles and confetti to the balloon strings - but so worth it to achieve the final result. - The little unicorn biscuits and cupcakes. Enjoy the pictures x
There is something about pink, black and gold that just works! I love the color combination and a tried and tested color combination to create a sophisticated, but fun look.
Today we are sharing a baby shower that was styled by one of our listed party and event planners, Melabee Bespoke Events and the event was held at KCC La Vie and Rose, also one our our listed venues in Johannesburg. Enjoy the pictures, I am sorry, I got a little out of control with the food photographs, but it all just looks so good! Especially those Nutella and Peanut Butter tartlets! From Mel:
What can I say...I'm totally in love with this theme. It suited the the mom-to-be perfectly. I can't believe that in December last year I styled her bachelorette and now her baby shower. It was truly an honour to be part of yet another milestone, Nicolette Pesev you are beautiful both inside and out, and wish you and Orce only the best memories with your bundle of joy.
This lady has been one of my most loyal clients the past three years and I absolutely love her to bits. She is just always so happy, full of life and lots of fun to be around and I love our chats!
So it was really special for me to plan her 30th birthday celebration in October this year. What is worse than an overly involved client? A client that says - "Ina, I do not care what you do, i trust you completely!" And that was all she said :) Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed organizing the event.
Today I am sharing the most beautiful of birthday parties. Mom Lisa wanted to create a magical world for her daughter, Charlotte's, 3rd birthday as she loves everything whimsical and make-believe.
And she completely nailed it! Who would not love a party like this?! Details I love? - The Unicorn head (alice) bands are my favorite! - The unicorn cupcakes are also very cute. - The floral '3' used as the backdrop for the candy table is stunning! From mom Lisa:
"The party was for my daughter Charlotte Beatrice Hunter who turned 3 years old
She is taken with everything magical and make believe , and so it was her choice to have a unicorn party as she is in love with My Little Ponies and so this theme was a definite for her. I searched pinterest and most of the Unicorn parties are rainbow in colour which I definitely didn’t want as I wanted the party to be tasteful and elegant , so I went with soft pink , mint and gold as my colours and built things from there."
A couple of months ago I was invited to sponsor and host a table at a Ladies Morning which is held yearly in Pretoria East at the Silver Lakes Golf Club - Happily Ever After.
The morning is aimed at women and more specifically women in relationships and marriage. I am always excited about spending a morning with the girls and if I could learn something about growing a healthier relationship with my hubby at the same time, two flies! In the end I am so happy that I agreed. The international speakers were interesting, refreshing and fun and we all learned a lot about our how we are put together, how our hubby's are put together and small, easy ways to create the best possible relationship we can. We also laughed a lot! At the same time the organizers also went out of their way to treat every single lady, so thank you to Cecilia Raath and Yolandè Ehlers for a great morning. We had wine, bubbles, yummy food, macarons and great gift bags. I mean, what more could a girl ask for? See you next year! Here a few pictures of my Woodlands Themed Table. If you would like me to create a woodlands theme for your next function, please send me an email to [email protected] for a full quotation. SPONSERS: I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sponsored gifts for the goodie bags that I put together to also treat the women sitting at my table with. DEERLY STUDIO - Beautiful notepad, gift card and sticker. While browsing Instagram over December I came across this beautiful pink and gold first birthday party styled by The Polka Dot Company based in Durban.
From party planner Nicky, owner of The Polka Dot Company:
This was a first birthday party setup for twins. The client wanted a glittery gold & pink setup with lots of glitter detail. We immediately got to work. The setup included lots of handmade items such as tissue tassels, paper fans & glittery gold glass jars that we used to display flowers. Our candy cart with pink & white striped canopy was also used to display jars of candy and personalised glass bottles with paper straw and mini juice dispensers. The candy/dessert table included cupcakes, cakepops, macarons & themed cookies together with jars of marshmallows & sweets to tie in with the theme. The kids table & chair setting included lots of detail such as glitter confetti on the table and each chair was finished off with a cute little tutu.

We all love Harry Potter right? And even if you have never heard of Harry Potter {which I do not believe for a second}, you will love it after seeing this amazing candy table. I mean, so many clever ideas, I just cannot get over how cleverly this was done. I mean those Golden Snitches cake pops, those little wings!
It was done for a 18th Birthday party by the very creative Sumari from Sweetly Detailed. Hope this brings a little inspiration for your week!

This baby shower was so much fun to put together. Victoria asked for a star theme in colors of white & gold, and I went merrily on my way.
Besides decor, she wanted some games for the guest to play as well as a thank you gift for each person. I decided on 'baby shower bingo' and 'steal-the-chocolate' as both are fun and quick! Enjoy the pictures.
