One of my favorite things to give as a baby shower gift, is a name sign for the new baby's nursery door. It is personal and something fun and creative that I can make from scratch. About a month ago I saw these stunning signs that a friend of mine made for her 2 little monkeys - Emma & Francois. The letters are loose and you choose and pay per letter. The string and material is put together in a little DIY packet with assembly instructions.
These are available from Crafter's Market - I bought this one for my friend from the Woodlands branch. her baby Henry will be here soon!
One of the cutest and most memorable gifts and baby shower activities I have seen, is the one that was featured in last weeks post.
It is fun, interactive and will be treausred by the mom to be for a very long time. What you need: 1 x instant camera (like here and here) Some instant camera film 1 x A4 or bigger childrens illustrated childrens book Some permanent markers 3 or 4 {or more!} rolls washi tape - buy here The pictures below are quite self-explanatory, but if you have any question, let us know.
We all love design and when I saw Iki at the October Tierlantynkies Market last year, I was compelled to walk up to them and give them some heart felt jealousy, disguised as praise.
Instead of trying to explain what they do, here is a few examples of their work. Any of these works can be ordered directly from them in different sizes. The posters are not mounted, which makes them really affordable and gives you some flexibility. I stuck mine on a piece of wood, put a hook onto the back and hung it on my staircase wall. Depending on the occasion, they make great birthday gifts 'Nataniel - fig jam', Kitchen tea gifts 'Twee is beter as een' and baby shower gifts 'You are my sunshine'. They are my flavor of the moment!
