I love this trend of using bold, bright colors for special events at the moment. And this is exactly what this Mom ordered for her birthday breakfast, a color fest themed party.

This lady has been one of my most loyal clients the past three years and I absolutely love her to bits.  She is just always so happy, full of life and lots of fun to be around and I love our chats! 
So it was really special for me to plan her 30th birthday celebration in October this year.  
What is worse than an overly involved client?  A client that says  - "Ina, I do not care what you do, i trust you completely!"  And that was all she said :)

I must admit, one of my personal favorite ways of spending and celebrating my birthday is by having lunch or dinner with the special ladies  in my life.  
And how special to be able to celebrate a milestone birthday, such as your 50th, by spoiling all these wonderful woman to beautiful food, lots of bubbles in a beautiful setting surrounded with flowers!

Hello rain, so happy to see you!   I have been loving the rain this week and just so extremely grateful, I felt like I should be placing every available container in my garden to gather me some raindrops.  
The summer rains have arrived, which means our gardens transform into these beautiful places of green and flowers,  the perfect setting for a picnic celebration, whether for a birthday, baby shower or kitchen tea.

To help you visualize, today I am sharing a picnic birthday celebration Barbara from Bunting & Blossoms styled a few weeks ago.  As always, love the detail and she did everything herself, from food to decor!

The high teen party featured today was for a very special lady who didn't want to feel old at her party.
Therefore instead of a typical tea party, Lydia from Lala's Palace, 'tweaked' it a little with some feathers and color and she called it her 'teen high tea party'.

Details I love?  
- The colorful and very cute petit fours, cake pops and cupcakes.

I absolutely loved planning this function.  A birthday and a baby on the way - a definite reason for a huge, double celebration.  What made it so much fun?  The fact that I had not seen someone so excited about a celebration in a very, very long time and that Philile was one of the nicest, good spirited people I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with.  

When Philile called me she had very clear instructions: sophisticated, lots of detail and green color scheme with touches of yellow.  She already booked a venue at the very elegant Signature Restaurant in Brooklyn, so I had a lovely canvass to work with, which is always a bonus.

Lauren from Work of Heart put together this very sophisticated and elegant Coco Chanel inspired 30th Birtday.

"Chantelle wanted a classy & fabulous 30th birthday party, & so we decided on a Coco Chanel theme. Inspired by Coco Chanel’s sophisticated style, we chose a palette of black & white, with gold accents. Décor element included framed Coco Chanel quotes, custom printed balloons with the classic double C insignias & black satin bows. We also included fashion inspired props like a black wrought iron dressmakers dummy & black velvet jewelry busts dripping in pearls.

We were lucky to find the perfect venue - Isabella’s Cake & Food Shop in Northcliff; its striking black & white wallpaper provided the perfect backdrop. 
Natalie of Cherry Whisk made the cake, cupcakes & cookies that had us all swooning & drooling.
