Today I am sharing the birthday party of 3-year old little Ivy, who is one lucky girl, because mom, Nicky, put together the most precious Enchanted Fairy Forest themed party for her. I just love the floral elements and the crochet mushrooms are the best!

I really have enjoyed planning my daughter Ivy’s birthday parties for the last few years… But this year has probably been my favourite.
Firstly, because now that she is a bit bigger (she turned 3), she understands the concept of her birthday and her party so much more- there has been SO much excitement during the last few weeks, leading up to the “big day”. I am a bit of a sucker for online shopping- and every single parcel that arrived she very excitedly asked “Is that for my party!?”… Luckily, most of them were!
Secondly, I absolutely loved the theme this year. We initially decided on a “fairy princess theme” – Ivy loves anything “pretend & pretty” and dressing-up is one of her absolute favourite things to do. I wanted to do a theme that would allow us to create a fantasy world for her special day, so decided to add “Enchanted Forest” to the theme. Making it her “Enchanted fairy forest party”…

Inspiration...
I spent a lot of time searching through images on Pinterest trying to find the look and feel that I wanted. Once I saved all of the pics, I chose my favourites and the “hunt” began on where to find the essential items and how to recreate the looks.

The Decor...
I started by choosing my colour theme – mostly pastels with a pop of darker pink and purple, and briefed the stationery company (BASH projects) on the theme and the look that I wanted. Once that was arranged I started sourcing the décor. I decided to do a main table with food & decor for the adults, and a kids table for their food & goodies. I used real tree trunk stools for the kids, creating a forest feel, and added flowers, mini bird cages, wooden logs, fairies & toadstools for the décor. I had big polka dot pottery toadstools made, and my mom crocheted little toadstools. I had a tiered frill table cloth made to add a whimsical, girly touch.
For the main table, I used a back drop of a large white frame, with lace in the middle and “IVY” written in wire & decorated with flowers and butterflies. I had a few beautiful flower arrangements done in watering cans, a large tiered food stand made out of wooden disks, and a collection of wooden platters for the food. I added photo frames with special photos of Ivy to add a personal touch. I chose a 2 tier fairy cake, and themed fairy cupcakes to decorate the main table. A pink ombre cake with flag and butterfly cake topper added a bit of fun to the table as well. And little fairy ornaments finished off the look.

Activities...
For entertainment I did an activity table with “Make a fairy wand” goodies – star wands with stickers, glitter and pom poms. I had a real fairy princess who put glitter tattoos on the kids and did special face painting and games, I also had a 2nd face painter & balloon modeller, 2 rented mechanical horse rides and a puppet show… It sounds like a lot, but to keep 20 little kids entertained for two hours is a challenge!
It all came together beautifully in the end. Most importantly Ivy had a magical day in her enchanted forest. We were so blessed to spend her special day with amazing family and friends- making our little girls’ birthday fantasy come to life!
