The thought of having to stay home over the Easter weekend, while everyone else was going away, seemed just so depressing, that I decided to do something fun and decadent. And that is how I came to book the high tea at The Saxon for two. And what a treat it turned out to be. At R295.00 it is quite pricey, but I can guarantee that it is absolutely worth every cent.
The food is divine, the sweet treats sublime and included is as many ice teas, hot teas, coffees, cappuccinos, lattes and espressos as you can manage to fit in between all the food. Three hours later we left feeling lazy, relaxed, stuffed and a little bit snooty - after the excellent service we received!
We had our tea on the terrace, but the Saxon has four venues that you can choose from. And all four venues are great places to host a baby shower tea or kitchen tea. Yes, it is pricey, but if you take into account that all your food, drinks and venue us included, it becomes quite affordable. And if budget allows for it, this is a great venue to host a pretty party with a difference.
